Daniel Wellington Korea plans to accelerate the presence in Korea with retail expansion in all consumer touchpoints. We are now looking for a driven Financial Accountant to join our office in Korea to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain internal control and build strategies for the fast-growing Korea organization. YOUR CHALLENGE:
Reporting directly to General Manager of Korea and dotted reporting to the finance team at APAC. This role will have direct responsibility for accurate and timely reporting for Daniel Wellington Korea. The Financial Accountant will be critical to the organization’s success.

Your Main Tasks Are

• Account Receivable: Reconcile retailers’ EDIs (Department Store, Online Shopping Mall, Credit finance association, online marketplaces) and reconcile with posted sales.
• Account Payable: Review and manage expenses, 3PL, foreign invoices, Customs invoice, intercompany payments, tax payments and payroll transfers.
• Fixed Asset: Ensure accuracy of fixed asset acquisition/depreciation.
• General Ledger: Review and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including prepayments and accrual, retirement fund and agency costs.
• P&L Reporting and variance analysis against budget/forecast
• Inventory: Reconcile customs & invoice and documentation, slow moving and obsolete stocks
• Treasury: Manage cash flow and prepare 12 month rolling cash flow forecast. Manage intercompany payments and assist in Group liquidity planning.
• Corporate governance: Supervise VAT, WHT and corporate income tax filing.
• Ensure local entities adhere to all local tax and accounting compliance.
• Audit: Lead annual audit and assist to improve internal controls and data accuracy
• Work with sales channels to provide weekly accurate sales forecasts.
• Assist in annual budget process.
• Ad hoc project work and analysis.

Must-have

• Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Accounting or relevant
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar organization (organizations with wholesale/retail)
• Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Accounting or relevant
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to a team
• Proven ability to drive business initiatives.
• Able to adapt and flourish in changing environment
• Great analytical skills.
• Fluent in English & Korean language skills required

Preferred

• Experience in the system, Microsoft NAV Dynamics (Navision) is preferable
