The Business Development Associate’s primary duty is making sales for companies $150 Million and below in revenue through phone/email. This role will interface with business to business, business to customer, and non-profit organizations to drive sales results.

The Business Development Associate role is focused on acquiring new customers. This role will interface directly with customers and the primary duty includes exercising discretion and independent judgement to achieve sales objectives.


  • Identify, qualify and set business opportunities via a variety of sources including phone/email/social media
  • Utilize strategic partnerships and clients as sources for recommendations and referrals
  • Research the needs of potential prospect companies and learning who makes purchasing decisions

Conduct Business Meetings and Build Relationships with potential and current clients

  • Build long term, trusted relationships with potential and current clients
  • Consult with prospects and current clients to understand their needs for Binary Defense products and services
  • Present Binary Defense offerings to potential clients as aligned to their needs
  • Send detailed follow-up emails recapping meeting, overview of solution and actionable next steps


  • Understand process to close the deal within each organization including key decision makers
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions
  • Effectively communicate via follow-up email to document next steps through closing the deal including anticipated signature and kickoff dates to prospects/clients
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Meet all assigned quotas and activity expectations for outreach
  • Thoroughly document activity and meeting notes and sales progress in CRM
  • Deliver high quality interactions with prospects and current clients
  • Effectively collaborate with team to support organization efforts to acquire, retain and grow accounts
  • Maintain updated database of prospective and current client information
  • Support sales cycles and responses to client requests for proposals (RFP’s)
  • Answer potential and current client questions as needed
  • Understand client needs and proactively offer solutions and support
  • Curiosity to continuously learn about Binary Defense & the cybersecurity industry
  • Additional duties as assigned or needed


  • 2-year Associates degree required
  • 1+ years’ experience in a professional business role
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Experience delivering presentations to prospects/customers (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of current office products (MS Office, Messaging, Salesforce (preferred))
  • Ability to have strong business conversations & understand business needs to align to our value.
  • Leverage sales resources including technology, marketing, and technical teams effectively
  • Strong communication and qualification skills
  • Creatively think through and solve problems
