Position Summary:
The Data Systems Analyst is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of Vermont Law School’s information systems and databases. This position provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of application systems and databases that support institutional business and clinical applications. Additional responsibilities include creating reports, data ingestion, system configuration, and end-user training and support.
Essential Functions:

- Querying data & reporting using various tools such as SSRS, PowerBI

- Correcting mapping issues and errors throughout the Dataflow

- Developing data governance plans, maintenance and ad hoc maintenance of databases, data systems

- Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction

- Assigning numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time.

- Analyzing local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry

- Perform traditional DBA duties such as upgrades, patching, environment cloning, implementing backup/recovery and monitoring procedures, capacity planning, website fail-over, etc.

- Design, architect, and build scalable on-prem and cloud-based database and data storage solutions working closely with other members of the Technology team

- Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

- Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
- Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
