You know the timber industry inside out! You cut your teeth in a timber products manufacturing/prefab operation and you just get the building and construction industry, its challenges and its opportunities. You’re a skilled P&L Manager and your track record is one of growing a business through farsighted strategies, practical business savvy plans, and engaging the wider team and getting things done through to a high standard such that customers are always delighted!.
Our client? Well, they’ve been around (and successful) for 50 odd years now. They have thrived because they’re not scared to innovate, read the market, predict the challenges and respond.. They have also been good at getting the right people into the right jobs which helps! They continue to invest for the future, their site offering room for expansion and capex being in place for new plant and equipment. They have a genuine hunger for profitable growth and this is where you come in.
We’re after an experienced GM from within the industry, someone who has always made a difference and who has fostered a positive culture in which people are treated fairly and are encouraged to contribute. We want you to embrace and model safety as a number one priority. Combine this with the ability to foster partnerships with key customers and just demonstrate that this is the way business is done, and you’ll really fit in. We need you to have run at least a $50m business and to have been the shaper of its growth, not just a status quo manager.
You’ll report directly to the Board, a supportive team of industry experienced professionals. You’ll have the autonomy to run a highly profitable business day to day, but you’ll be expected to have an eye to the future and an ability to keep the growth going. This does mean successfully grappling with the people and supply chain challenges of the COVID era. You’ll also need to bring passion and energy to all aspects of stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally.
The business is looking for a proven high achiever. There is a good six figure base plus company vehicle, superannuation and a performance bonus on offer.
