The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Ethical Trade to join our ever growing group of brands.

Our Responsible Sourcing and Product Operations leadership team is a driving force for change. Reporting into our Sourcing and Product Operations Director, you’ll be our Head of Ethical Trade, leading our central ethical team in supporting all 13 of our boohoo group brands.

This role can be based at either our London or Manchester Offices – whichever works best for you, but with frequent travel to both sites.

Your Team

Responsible Sourcing and Product Operations is reimagining how the Group works globally. We cover Sustainability, Sourcing, Ethical Trade, Product Quality and Operational Efficiency. What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and managing the central ethical team in the on-boarding of new suppliers and/or factories in conjunction with the group sourcing team.
  • Leading and managing the regional ethical compliance teams in country to ensure adherence to the Boohoo code of conduct – ensuring production facilities are ethically compliant to maximise the welfare of workers within the Boohoo group supply chain.
  • Responsible for ensuring all existing and new production facilities are visited, audited and inspected as required, and ensuring any compliance issues are managed and closed out to the satisfaction of the group in adherence to the Code of Conduct and any other applicable local legislative or trade association framework.
  • Responsible for ensuring full transparency in the maintenance and publication of the Boohoo group production facility database.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Boohoo brand buying and merchandising and design teams are continuously supported and trained in the group’s ethical and sustainable responsible purchasing practices and any other ethical training requirements as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring Boohoo group suppliers (existing and new ) are aware of and adhere to the Boohoo group code of conduct, and ensure we collaborate with NGOs and relevant stakeholders to remediate issues as and when they arise.
  • Managing the audit process by territory with Boohoo Group nominated auditing body and others as required.
  • Managing and leveraging existing and new relationships with external stakeholders, trade bodies and associations, NGOs, investors to support the Boohoo group.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Boohoo group is fully compliant with existing and future legislation as it applies across of our sourcing territories and for the publication of the Boohoo group modern slavery statement.
  • Responsible for the evolution of the Boohoo group ethical sourcing strategy, ensure a supplier partnership model is developed and delivered to ensure full supply chain transparency and maximising worker welfare.
  • Responsible for and active participation in the Boohoo group internal governance structures – Supply Chain Compliance Committee, Audit and risk committee, Boohoo Group PLC Board meetings and ensuring all appropriate actions are delivered upon.
  • Supporting the Sustainability and Sourcing Teams in the execution and delivery of their strategies and to ensure the delivery of compliant additional product capacity.

More about you

  • Experience in social auditing processes and methodology essential
  • Knowledge of UK modern slavery Act and industry standards and regulatory bodies and associations essential.
  • Experience in managing complex supply chains essential
