As Head of European Research with Hines, you will join Hines Research which is an important centre of thought leadership within the broader Hines business providing support to both Hines’ funds and to local deal exaction teams on one-off transactions. This position is a Europe-focused Head of Research role within Hines’ Investment Management and will be based in Hines’ London office. This role reports to, Senior Managing Director of Research (based in Boston) and will work closely with the CIO – Europe and members of the Investment Committee. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with the proprietary Hines Research framework to analyze real estate markets across Europe with a primary focus on office, logistics, residential and retail
- Collaborate with the global Hines Research team to improve and evolve the research framework over time
- Develop and implement thought leadership content aligned to the investment strategy
- Deliver presentations to external and internal teams on research findings, acting as a key part of the investor relations process both for existing investors and new investor prospects
- Key role providing feedback on all new investments across Europe both on company-wide and external calls
- Lead and mentor incumbent Analyst with the opportunity to grow team in London
- Assist in review of new investments across the risk spectrum and weigh in on in hold/sell decisions, working closely with local European deal teams on specific situations
- Work with European CIO to conceive and test new investment strategies with a quantitative slant
- Deliver monthly Research & Strategy updates
- Oversee the updating/maintenance/quality checks of products made available for local teams
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Ten or more years’ experience in commercial real estate research
- Worked closely with investment strategy throughout previous roles
- Led the production of Commercial Real Estate reporting
- Designed thought-pieces that enhance the research profile both internally and externally
- Enhanced and improved research models
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management
