It is within this context that SickKids Foundation welcomes applications for the role Intern, Impact Ambassador.

POSITION STATUS: 3 Positions – Temporary Full Time Contract (4 months).

Impact Ambassador positions are open to candidates who have recently graduated (recent graduates are considered individuals who have graduated from an accredited university or college within the last 36 months); or to candidates who are enrolled in or are attending a recognized secondary school. college, or university on a full-time basis and are planning to continue full-time studies in the next school term. However, candidates should not be enrolled in a school program in which work experience is a mandatory requirement for graduation (this role does not qualify for completion of a co-op placement).

Description Of The Position

As a member of the Impact Ambassador Team. you will be responsible for inspiring and engaging staff from corporate partners and community event supporters to achieve their fundraising goals for SickKids Foundation (SKF). Impact Ambassador Team members will be responsible for building, managing and stewarding relationships with key members of the community.

Pending public health guidelines, you will spend part of your role travelling to visit partners and attending community events. The remaining portion of your role will be spent in your home office supporting the work of the Corporate and Community Partnerships {CCP) team including planning visits or calls, preparing communication packages. documenting interactions, prospect research and outreach for fundraising programs, including the Campus Challenge, and general administration of CCP programs.

Required Skills

YOU WILL:

  • Manage individual fundraising territory, including retail level fundraising activities. campaign logistics and scheduling in person and virtual visits;
  • Build relationships with key people within a fundraising territory and act as their point person and Foundation liaison for the duration of campaign or event engagement providing high quality and responsive service;
  • Travel to partners’ offices/stores/retail locations and community events throughout Ontario and deliver presentations to volunteers. employee groups and influencers to educate and inspire stakeholders about SickKids, and to drive fundraising activity and results specific to the event or program (Depending on guidelines, this may also be done virtually);
  • Attend virtual and in-person campaign activities and community events to cultivate participation, articulate impact, and encourage fundraising;
  • Increase engagement among partners through donor-centered activities designed to achieve the highest possible fundraising results;
  • Provide unique recognition materials and engagement opportunities to corporate partners
  • Report to relationship managers consistently during events and retail store location visits and identify challenges and opportunities;
  • Work and communicate with the other ambassadors to manage workload and report campaign and partner trends back to the activation team and managers;
  • Collect meaningful stories for the purpose of building relationships and personalizing future communication opportunities and social media content;
  • Conduct prospect research and outreach for community partnerships team programs. including the Campus Challenge;
  • Additional office duties and projects as required;
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

  • Qualified for the position under the criteria of either working towards or having obtained a university degree or college diploma with a program focus on Not-For-Profit Management, Marketing, or other transferable disciplines;
  • Strong people skills, a relationship builder with a professional demeanor;
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills through phone, video and in person;
  • Excellent storyteller and motivator who can engage and inspire people whether through the phone, video call or in person both in a group or one-on one setting;
  • Creative, resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, with strong follow through;
  • Works well independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to pitch in and support a variety of projects as needed;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multitask;
  • Flexible to adjust to new tactics and strategies as they emerge;
  • In possession of a valid Canadian driver’s license (G Level), with regular access to a vehicle and insurance (mileage will be reimbursed);
  • Experience in customer service a must;
  • Quick thinker, fast learner, adaptable to many different situations and personalities;
  • A personal connection to the hospital and cause is an asset in this role;

Total Compensation Package

SALARY RANGE: $15 – $18/hour

HOURS: 35 Hours – work week, flexible work arrangements are available
