Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) is looking for an experienced, results-driven Marketing & Communications Specialist (MCS) to join our team and build awareness for our brand, programs and impact. As a critical member of the organization, the MCS will drive all online and offline communication, and will assist in achieving agency-wide marketing and communications goals and objectives. This role is key to the execution of our 2021 Communications Plan, as well as building strong partner and donor relationships that will lead to sustainability and increased impact.

- This position is In-office and with occassional remote work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage, plan and implement marketing and communication plans to increase brand awareness and impact, including the strategies and tactics outlined in our 2021 Communications Plan;
- Manage, develop and maintain google ad grants campaigns, social media channels and website presence to increase awareness and engagement of our work;
- Design, layout and develop compelling print and digital communications including client outreach & recruitment collateral, web content, fundraising & development material, presentations, e-blasts, newsletters, etc.;
- Website maintenance and monitoring, including general maintenance and updates, posting of new program information, content updates, events & activities updates, etc.;
- Work with web developer to make necessary website improvements, develop event microsites and new program / landing pages;
- Development and coordination of social media calendar and content scheduling;
- Assist in the development, implementation and coordination of new and existing agency special events, including the YAY Family Picnic and YAY Move-a-Thon;
- Develop presentation decks/templates following brand guidelines;
- Develop and coordinate all PR/media relations and media inquiries for the organization, including outreach to establish new relationships with all channels;
- Assist with photography/videography for special projects as needed;
- Develop and maintain archive of marketing/communication materials, including photo and video files, stories, testimonials, articles, printed materials, etc.;
- Remain up-to-date with current marketing and communications trends to support the ongoing enhancement of our brand and impact;
- Support internal communication initiatives;
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum level of education required is a bachelor’s degree in Communications / Marketing / Public Relations or related field of study;
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional nonprofit sector experience in multi-channel communications and marketing with demonstrated results and success;
- Intermediate to advanced writing skills to prepare compelling content for a range of audiences and communication platforms;
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and communications tools and strategies;
- Demonstrated proficiency and skill with CMS platforms (WordPress);
- Strong experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp) to design and implement various forms of communications;
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and management tools;
- Proficient in Google Ad management, Google Analytics tracking and reporting, and understanding of SEO best practices;
- Ability to gather data, generate strong reports and manage budgets;
- An understanding of the basic principles of 1:1 and group youth mentoring, as well as the impact and benefits to youth;
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
- Clearance of a Police Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as required;
- Strong Assets: graphic design skills, experience with Frontstream/GiftWorks/Artez.
Key Competencies:

Compensation
This is a one-year full-time position for 35 hours per week. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
