Paid Search Specialist (Printer Marketing )


About The Role

As a Paid Search Marketer, you’re an important part of the Asia chapter within the Worldwide Search team. You will help build, grow, and optimize HP’s Google, Amazon, Rakuten (and other marketplaces in Japan) paid search accounts. This role works in a team but takes the lead on launching and managing campaigns, keeps a close eye on budgets and bidding strategies, and conduct frequent A/B testing to gather data. You’ll then proactively take measures that grow the performance and ROI of our accounts, while focusing on achievement of HP’s goals and deliver strong ROAS. You’ll also be in constant contact with a vast spectrum of internal business units – category, marketing, digital operations, data science and Sales regarding what’s working, and will consistently be seen as an expert to lean on.

About The Team

Search Asia is HP’s in-house Search delivery and management team designed to own and develop HP’s Search Engine capabilities. We are expanding the team to add more like-minded, data-nerds to our team. As a Search Marketer, you will be passionate about how Search Marketing can deliver tangible results for a business. You will enjoy working with teams or internal clients from various levels and business units, and relish the opportunity to address business challenges by providing innovative solutions end to end.

In this role you will

  • Create and optimise multiple Google Adwords accounts at scale (this is the #1 requirement for this job, and if you haven’t done this, this isn’t the position for you)
  • Project and forecast budgets, account performance and related technical analysis at speed.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the following: Google Adwords, Copywriting, and Marketplace Ads.
  • Demonstrate PowerPoint / Excel expertise and a strong ability to analyze data, make actionable recommendations through insightful reporting

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong communicator, Native in Japanese and Fluent in Business English
  • Proven SEM experience and success managing PPC campaigns across Google (preferably also Yahoo/ Amazon/ Rakuten)
  • Understanding of paid search, social and display.
  • Well-versed in performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • Strong analytical skills and experience generating SEM reports.


  • Experience working with large retail and ecommerce clients
  • Ability to write scripts that streamline our workflow through automation
  • Experience in how SEM contributes to other elements within the digital marketing suite e.g display remarketing, on site experience
  • Well-developed commercial acumen and proven ability to develop accurate forecasts that meet or exceeds objectives
  • Experience in Search research tools such as SimilarWeb, Hitwise and Adthena
  • Understanding of online to offline attribution
  • Experience with Amazon Marketing (AMS), Seller Central Advertising, Rakuten onsite ads
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Economics or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a proven paid customer acquisition environment (B2C preferred) running either Google Paid Search or Amazon PPC.
