About the job
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (“HKTDC”), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, is looking for a dynamic and high caliber professional to join our Corporate Communications & Marketing Department, mainly in charge of English editorial and executive-level and international communications.
Reporting to the Head of Communications & Public Affairs, major responsibilities include:
- Draft internal and external communications content in English such as speeches, talking points, presentations, video scripts and correspondence for senior executives including Chairman and Executive Director
- Plan, draft and produce corporate publishing content such as Annual Report, corporate website content, in-house publishing channels and other content as required
- Coordinate international corporate communications with the Council’s worldwide network of offices including positioning statements, LTTs etc.
- Oversee operations of the Council’s content systems
- Align and adapt English content with other local/Chinese-language counterparts and video content teams for international audiences
Requirements
- Background: An accomplished writer with 15+ years or more in corporate communications, public affairs and related fields at a sizeable multinational or local organisation
- Preferably possessing both in-house and agency experience, including working at / managing external agencies, vendors and multiple internal parties in a Corporate Communications/Editorial management role
- Skills: Excellent writing and flawless editing skills to produce content for C-suite executives
- Knowledge of content drafting for different media (print, digital, broadcast, social)
- Native written and spoken English a must. Additional language an advantage
- Knowledge base: Strong working knowledge of international business, macro economics, sector knowledge an advantage
- Attributes: Flair for writing in business context for senior executives, fact-oriented with attention to detail, excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and able to meet tight deadlines
- strong interpersonal skills and able to articulate complex concepts verbally and in written form
Remuneration and Benefits
The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract with prospects for renewal upon expiry. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus an appropriate contract-end gratuity. Medical benefits and annual leave will be offered.
