Specialist, Social Impact Evaluation

As the Social Impact Evaluation Specialist, you will lead the impact measurement and evaluation of worker rights and community development projects and programs across VF globally, which protects the rights and needs of and gives a voice to workers in the VF Global Supply Chain. You will be a catalyst for movements that advance universal worker rights and community development.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

  • Develop and operate the programs’Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) tools and data systems and provide on-going support to internal and external partners using those tools and systems.
  • Provide on-going evaluation of program performance and effectiveness toWorker Rights (WR) and Worker and Community Development (WCD) teams and advise and support WR and WCD program managers to develop strategies to improve and redesign program methodologies and scale program impact.
  • Support the WR and WCD program teams to develop responses and interventions to address, remediate and prevent identified worker rights violations, worker and community needs, and other location specific issues.
  • Identify, pilot, and evaluate new MEL technologies to better engage and communicate with workers, community members and suppliers in the VF supply chain.
  • Support regular corporate reporting (e.g., annual reporting) and other ad hoc communication requests from VF internal teams.
  • Support the continuous data collection for external stakeholder engagements with civil society and NGOs, industry initiatives, investors, benchmark/rating agencies, Governments, etc.
  • Collaborate with the WR and WCD program managers, corporate communications team, and brand teams on developing communication materials and storytelling from VF’s social sustainability programs for internal and external communication purposes.
  • Collaborate with other internal VF and S&R teams, such as the S&R data team, to streamline processes and create efficiencies, utilizing VF’s data management systems, when necessary.

How you will do it:

  • Lead the overall development and delivery of MEL processes to track progress and measure impact of the WR and WCD programs.
  • Lead the execution and analysis of worker rights data collection and worker and community needs assessments.
  • Engage and collaborate with other internal VF teams and departments as necessary.

What success looks like:

  • Clear processes established within the first year to measure and track the impact of WR and WCD programs, in alignment with best practices and industry standards.
  • The ability to communicate stories and examples of WR and WCD programs to various stakeholders and for reporting purposes, backed by facts, data, and other information to substantiate those examples.
  • The ability to advise WR and WCD program managers on interpreting and utilizing data and information for program planning and strategy development.

Skills for Success

Years of relevant professional experience: 2 years

Educational position requirements: Bachelors/Masters in the following disciplines: Sustainability, Business, Economics, Engineering, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies

What we expect you already know:

  • Has experience working in the field of worker rights, development, and social sustainability in global supply chains (textile/apparel/footwear supply chains preferred)
  • Has knowledge and experience of designing, measuring and evaluating social impact indicators
  • Understands the external stakeholder landscape related to worker rights and development in global supply chains
  • Has analytical skills, identifying issues and developing solutions
  • Ability to digest complex information and translate into simple communications
  • Cultural interpersonal skills, ability to work across multiple countries, cultures and time-zones
  • Proficient PC skills, including excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
