Queensland Global Talent Showcase – India

Trade and Investment Queensland, Study Queensland and Cturtle recently launched the Queensland Global Talent Showcase with an event in Bangalore, India on Friday 21st February 2020.

The event was well attended by employers, university representatives, government and trade delegates and alumni of Queensland universities.

The initiative is set to promote the success of international alumni of Queensland universities and showcase international graduates with employers across ASEAN, Greater China and South Asia.

The event included a panel with special guests Bronwyn Bartsch, Director International at CQ University; Ravi Malapati, Country Manager – South India at Southern Cross University; Sheel Nuna, Director South Asia at Queensland University of Technology; Rahul Saxena, Founder of Squad Connect (University of Queensland Alumni); Sarah Todd, Vice President (Global) at Griffith University; and Ren Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor International at University of Southern Queensland.

Some key insights from the discussion included:

  • Alumni are the best source of advice for future international students.
  • Employment outcomes and greater connections with employers and industry is critical to the success of international graduates.
  • A better form of university ranking based on employment outcomes of international graduates would be beneficial to help future students decide where to study.
  • Queensland universities are doing more every year to improve the access to internships and part time employment in Queensland for current international students.

Cturtle partners with innovative universities around the world to introduce their international graduates to over 14,000 hiring mangers.

Cturtle is the market leader in tracking international graduates who have studied in the UK, USA and Australia with a network of over 1.3M international alumni who have returned to home countries in ASEAN, Greater China and South Asia.

The partnership with Trade Investment Queensland will continue through 2020 with events planned in China, Hong Kong (SAR), Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.
