Headway

Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that everyone can access.

1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the vast majority do not get the care they need. The primary reason is cost: the majority of therapists do not accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is prohibitively expensive for prospective patients. That’s why Headway is building the first software-enabled network of therapists who accept health insurance, making it easy for therapists to grow their practices, and possible for patients to find quality care they can afford.

We launched in April of 2019 and are now powering >50,000 appointments. To scale our vision, we’ve raised over $100 million in funding from a16z, Thrive, Accel, and Google Ventures.

Join us, and make an impact.

As a Business Development Representative at Headway, you’ll have an instrumental impact as we expand our therapist network across the US. You’ll be directly responsible for setting appointments that will help to scale our community of therapists and psychiatrists in order to increase access to quality care for those who need it.

As a sales expert in a rapidly scaling environment, you’ll be on the front line of expanding our therapist networks by generating interest in Headway with Providers across the country and setting appointments for full product demonstration with our Provider Growth Associates. As the first point of contact for prospective providers, you must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and a desire to expand mental healthcare access. You must work to obtain knowledge of the Mental Healthcare space, the current competitive landscape, and various Provider personas.

You will:

  • Ensure leads are validated with key information to help qualify Provider Meetings using tools such as internal databases, Linkedin, Psychologytoday.com, etc.
  • Execute outbound calling campaigns set forth by Provider Growth Leadership
  • Route information to the appropriate Provider Growth Associate and ensure accurate follow-up
  • Meet all company SLAs (service level agreements) for lead follow-up
  • Handle all Provider inquiries via live conversations in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback to Leadership on quality of leads

You will

  • You 0-1 year experience in a Sales/Marketing function, with an expressed career interest in sales
  • You are energetic, motivated, and inspired by exceeding goals
  • You consider yourself coachable and have a competitive spirit
  • You know how to connect with people whether in person, over the phone, or over email
  • You have a deep work ethic and the desire to continuously improve
  • You like to be challenged and push yourself to get better every day and in every pitch
  • You have thick skin, and are comfortable thinking on your feet, trying new approaches, and bouncing back when things don’t go your way
  • You want to learn and grow. You view this role as an opportunity to learn from a bright and talented team
  • You are excited about rewiring the mental health system for access and affordability

We believe a team’s strength is in its people, and we cannot achieve this mission without a team that reflects the diversity of this problem – across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and experience.
