About the role

Reporting to the Group Manager Talent and Organisational Capability, The Star Entertainment Group are now looking for a seasoned L&D professional to join an elite team of excellence to lead The Star Academy team. The Star Academy brings together the many development opportunities at The Star under one brand. The three unified areas of focus (The Foundation Centre, The Skills Centre & The Leadership Centre), allow team members to align their career management and development opportunities, recognising the investment The Star places in them and their career, and reinforcing the employer brand in the hearts and minds of The Star’s employee population.

About you

Leadership is at the core of everything you produce and inspiring your team along the journey is at the heart of your passion! Your maturity and presence ensures confidence through all stakeholders at all levels as well as influencing skills to ensure buy-in creating advocates through each interaction. You have several lived examples in designing an L&D Framework, technically sound with e-learning modules however are still very comfortable to work at an operational level to lead by example.

Key responsibilities in the role include but not limited to:

  • Lead the L&D function to deliver development programs to meet business growth
  • Assist with developing contemporary and scalable group wide development programs
  • Use people data and consulting with key stakeholders, to provide analysis to identify skills gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate new and innovative strategies and programs, best practice in organisational learning and development, identifying and recommend the application of new approaches and techniques.
  • Embed learning frameworks in new and existing development programs
  • Optimise digital e-learning technologies for scalable delivery

Be your best self
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous demonstrated experience in leading learning and development teams
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate with and influence a wide range of people to effect organisational change
  • Excellent consulting and communication skills with internal and external contacts
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning principals and trends and working with learning architecture frameworks
  • Experience in digital design and delivery of development programs
  • Tertiary qualification in organisational development / psychology / change or HR / L&D
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in an atmosphere of changing priorities and circumstances
