As Head of Marketing you will lead the marketing and product management program for the business, working closely with the General Manager and supporting agencies including College Hill national sales force.

With your strong commercial acumen, you will play an active role in realising the growth ambitions in New Zealand and internationally.  Core to the role is creating and successfully executing marketing and sales plans using the full 4P mix to realise the business potential and build the brand and product profiles.

This is an opportunity to amplify the entrepreneurial and challenger-brand mindset that has built this leading plant-based food company with consumers.  Through the development and execution of clever marketing and product plans you will recruit new consumers, lifting the awareness and penetration of our products amongst a wider audience base, as well as engaging our loyal followers.

To be successful you will be an outstanding B2C marketer and leader with proven achievements in brand marketing and product management, well versed in digital marketing and have had success in the New Zealand FMCG/Grocery environment.  International markets experience is a bonus.  You will demonstrate proven ability to shape up competitive winning strategies and the ability to move between strategy and ideas and tactical execution.

In addition to the above you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing roles with an FMCG & grocery focus
  • Experience across brand marketing and product management including launching new products from conception to shelf to consumer
  • Proven ability to leverage digital marketing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • A track record of being able to learn and simplify complexity
  • Excellent planning, project management and execution skills
  • Relationship management and strong interpersonal and relationship management capability – internally and externally
  • Well-developed commercial acumen
  • Proven skills in analytics and budget management
  • A relevant commercial or marketing tertiary qualification

KEY DELIVERABLES OF THE ROLE

  • Build and execute an annual marketing plan
  • Drive growth on existing base range products
  • Support recent launches and successfully launch new products, from conception to shelf to consumer
  • Consider through-the-line (TTL) tactics to drive awareness, penetration and repeat purchase
  • Develop tactics to engage with consumers throughout the purchase pathway
  • Manage and optimise the digital marketing channels, including ability to strategise, plan, develop and write content across search and social
  • Work closely with College Hill national sales team to coordinate effective shopper marketing and sales promotions, and support the performance at range reviews and NPD sell-ins
  • Effectively manage the marketing budget annually and monthly review to check & adjust
  • Effectively work cross-functionally with a collaborative, team-worker approach across all facets of the business, living the values of Raglan Food Co
  • Support the General Manager in presenting and sharing progress with the Board, seeking approvals where necessary for investment opportunities

LOCATION

This role is located in Raglan. We have preference for candidates who are Waikato-based but we are open to other locations with ability to travel to Raglan regularly. We offer flexibility to work from home.

HOURS

This is a full time role.

At Raglan Food Co we set out to lift the vibe on plant-based eating!  We’re indignant that plant-based eaters are having to compromise their foodie experiences with average tasting food, and experiencing the disappointment of texture from below par ingredients, fillers and unhealthy additives.  So we’ve set out to create delicious plant-based options of the foods you know and love, with great taste and texture, and high quality, simple “clean” labelling.

Founded in 2014 by Mr and Mrs Coconut, a.k.a. Tesh and Seb, after Tesh used her home kitchen to create a delicious coconut-based yoghurt to address Seb’s dairy allergies.  Raglan locals started asking if they could have some too. The crew of coconut-lovers grew and grew.  Before you could say coconut-yoghurt-is-the-best-thing-ever ten times, it began popping up in shop fridges all over New Zealand!

Raglan Food Co is built on a strong ethical and sustainable ethos.  Our products use the highest quality ingredients and strive to be as simple and “clean” nutritionally as possible, while also not compromising on taste. We have been widely recognised and awarded for our sustainability efforts and hold accreditations including being a Certified B Corporation and Toitū Carbon Zero organisation.  We have a number of impact initiatives that we undertake each year to support our local community.

The Raglan Food Co brand is the leader in dairy-free yoghurt in NZ grocery, with strong national distribution.  We vibe on bringing great tasting plant-based new products to market and in recent years have expanded beyond jars of yoghurt to kefirs (yoghurt beverages), spreads and dips (vegan aioli and mayo), with more exciting innovation to come!  In 2020 we moved into a purpose-built facility in Raglan where we produce all our products.  With sustainability at our heart, our new site considers reuse of water, improved heating & chilling, renewable energy, reduced waste to landfill – recycled label backings, worm farm, and other initiatives including our glass jars being made from 92% recycled glass.
